KHV - An important message.
As many of you may be aware there have been a significant number of khv cases confirmed in the last 2 weeks.
If you are a Wheelock member and are fishing waters on another club tickets and particularly commercial waters would you please disinfect and thoroughly dry your fish handling equipment including clothing and waders etc before vising our club waters.
We would also advise that all members disinfect their equipment on a regular basis even if you only fish Wheelock waters.
We cannot stress the importance of this strongly enough. Any water contracting the virus will loose over 90% of its carp and nothing can be done to stop it.
Probably the easiest disinfectant to use is the Pro logic Steri7 which is available at many angling ahops although there are others available, closely follow the manufacturers instructions.
Please follow this advise to protect your fishing. ... See MoreSee Less

Please note that Crabmill is open for fishing again. The water quality measurements have returned to normal.
However we would remind members that pre-baiting is not allowed and we ask that until further notice that bait is used sparingly while fishing.
We will be regularly checking the water quality and will take any action required should we see any further issues.
We are pleased to announce that we now have 3 pegs on the West bank available to fish. Access is via the lower gate on the car park.
As ever please ensure all gates are closed.
Our access boundary is clearly marked on the West bank with white marker posts. Absolutely no access is allowed beyond these posts at any time or for any reason.
The East bank opposite these 3 pegs is still open to fishing and we ask anglers to show etiquette and respect to other anglers. If someone is opposite then no casting past half way.
As per the lake rules please report all catches to the secretary or a committee member also please report any unusual fish activity or lake condition.
Thank you for your patience while the lake was closed and good luck should you venture on there. ... See MoreSee Less
