Lets all hope the big freeze will be over soon and we can all get the rods out again!
A big thank you to all the members who attended the AGM this year, once again some good discussions were held and noted for the future.
We have had problems this year with Members not having Rod Licences. Can I remind you all to please make sure you have the correct number of up to date licences before you go fishing. It is against the clubs constitutional rules to fish with no Rod licences.
Whilst on the subject of rules, PLEASE, make sure you read the rules and understand them before you fish. There is no excuse for Members not knowing the rules. If you are unsure on anything please ask a member of the committee.
We have had one or two death rigs turn up again this year. Our fish stocks are valuable to the membership so please do not use anything you do not understand how to set up safely. If you are unsure please ask a more experienced angler for help.
You will all be glad to know that the Subs for 2011 are to remain the same. Due to the success of the cheque spread scheme this will continue for the foreseeable future. Thank you for all the help at the work parties this year it is much appreciated by the club.
Once again the junior fishin was a great success in 2010. A great time was had by the junior members who attended and equally by the adults. A special thank you to all the adults involved, I know a lot of work and effort goes into the weekend. I would also like to say a big thank you to all those who donated some fantastic prizes for the kids.
All the lakes have fished well this year with some good multiple catches and some cracking fish coming through the ranks. The fish seemed to still be feeding well into autumn before the weather put a lid on it. The Biggest Carp this year was 35lb 6oz caught by John Penlington from Cotton Park and the best Cat was 37lb 2oz caught by Scott McGregor. Well-done lads!
Due to the Website this year the membership list is growing at a very fast rate, in the past 2 months we have added 60 people to the list.
Please keep posting photographs and catch reports on the Wheelock Forum, they are very valuable to the society if you are unsure how to do this forward them to me, firstname.lastname@example.org
The committee thanks you for your support, and would like to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and Tight lines for 2011 !
