Wheelock AS are a small Cheshire based angling society that were first formed in 1948 by a group of friends. That friendly atmosphere is something we endeavour to uphold while providing some of the best Specimen fishing in North West of England on beautiful well maintained lakes.

We provide pleasurable surroundings with fishing for Carp to mid 30’s that are still growing, Catfish approaching 60lb along with double figure Tench and Bream. We also have a thriving Specimen Crucian Carp population in the Plex Flash

BreretonBaddiley Mere and Lawton Hall also contain specimen Pike to over 20lb. Although primarily a carp fishing orientated club we can still cater for anglers who like to fish for specimens of many species.

Our two lakes over at Baddiley include an ancient Mere and an old Reservoir. These two lakes already have stocks of fish that have seen little pressure in recent years, however we have topped up the stocks with prime English Carp of various strains.

Cotton Park and Cotton Moss are a beautiful pair of lakes that are the clubs most popular waters and not without good reason, they provide carp to mid 30s and have well maintained car parking, pathways and swims.

In recent years we have acquired Lawton which is a well established lakes with an abundance of natural food. We are confident that with our planned stocking and management policy these will provide some of the best specimen waters in the North West.

In 2016 is was a pleasure for the Committee to announce the fishing on the historic Crabmill Flash was once again under the control of the Society.

It was quickly established that there were still some stunning carp in there with several immaculate 30lb + carp being caught to 35lb. The catfish stock must class it in the top 10 waters in the country with many 30s and 40s and a few 50s to 58lb8oz.

All of the Wheelock AS waters contain specimen carp to over 20lb, this gives the Members a great range of Carp fishing. As a forward thinking club we are always on the look out for new waters to run and stock.

The current officials and Committee are fully committed to upholding the Society’s values and quality of fishing, 2016 has again seen the stocking of prime Carp from several of the UK’s premier carp suppliers.
